Glistening and imbued with a sea-blue hue, a 1.27 carat round sapphire-- and the clusters of crisply sparkling old mine-cut diamonds that embrace it--create a striking outline, subtly scalloped in form, across your finger. From the jewelry Maison Mellerio.* Total diamond weight, .35 carat. Crafted in platinum, currently ring size 6 1/2. GIA gemological report states: Heated. Thailand, origin. *Mellerio is the oldest and last family-owned jewelry house in France. Originating in Italy and moving to Paris in 1515, special privileges granted by Queen Marie de Medicis in 1613 (the Mellerios foiled a plot against her son) propelled the rapid rise of the family.
