ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

Symbolizing, among other things, prosperity, success, and good luck, jade has been a revered gem for thousands of years. Such a stone deserves an exquisite presentation. The subtly mottled vibrant green jade plaque that graces this pendant/brooch is hand carved with a lavish foliate motif surrounded by a distinctively shaped frame, hand fabricated, pierced, and set with brightly sparkling European-cut diamonds. This gorgeous work of wearable art suspends from a fancy complementing chain accented with two smaller carved jades. An unusual and utterly alluring, original Art Deco jewel, circa the 1930s. Crafted in platinum over 14K gold. Chain measures 16 inches. Gemological reports from Stone Group Laboratories state: Natural. No indications of polymers or dyes. Myanmar (Burma), origin.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
