Read before posting!

  • if you have a piece of jewelry and want to ask about things like age, provenance etc you will need to attach images to your post. A lot of times the back of a piece tells us more than the front so please do attach several shots, covering the item from all angles.

Photography tips:

  • make sure your camera is set on the macro function and shoot close-ups. You can recognize this function on most cameras by this icon: Macro icon.jpg
  • after you have placed your jewelry near a window or under a bright light, position the camera in such a way that the item fills the entire photo. Do not zoom, just hold the camera close to the item. Half press the shutter release button so that the camera focuses on the item and then press it all the way to take the picture.
  • if there is any hallmarks on the item we would love to see a shot of them too but often this is very hard to achieve. A quick sketch of the hallmarks can be a great substitute. Simply take a picture of the sketch and upload it with the rest.
  • You can find a tutorial on how to add pictures to your post here

What is my jewelry worth?

  • putting a value on something by looking at an online image is simply impossible. Questions regrading the value of items will therefor remain unanswered by our team. If you want to know what your item is worth we suggest you contact an appraiser near you.
